Sleepless in Brussels
BUDAAAAAAAPEST (it’s in Hungary)
- danced to traditional music mixed with techno on a boat on the Danube River
- absinth shots.
- saw the essentials of every European city (church, main square, ate the famous food, statues)
- ate the most falafel and hummus I’ve ever had at once. Fuck yes.
- Christmas markets!!! And warm mulled wine
- pub crawl with the guys working at the hostel…. aka Brussels bars SUCK
- drank extremely cheap drinks, including the Palinka challenge (swish and gargle this peach flavored brandy for 1 minute… then try to breath through your teeth after swallowing)
- mingled with the locals at the Hungarian baths, some played chess in the bath!
- got to chill on a couch in our hostel for the first time in 4 months, with good music, good tea, good friends, on the top floor of a historical building in downtown Budapest.
Do I really have to graduate? Or can I just stay here for the rest of my life?
Arizona State’s football coach Erickson is gone from ASU! On another note, Pregaming with Pat makes me want to go to Michigan so freaking badly. Is Ann Arbor not the greatest town in America?
5 COMPONENTS OF MY CRAZY WEEKEND
- wrote 24 pages for essays (study abroad is harder than I thought)
- Ypres, Belgium to see trenches and cemeteries of WWI
- SKRILLEX CONCERT….. was in the mosh pit for 2 hours. In the front row aka HANDS ON THE STAGE for the last hour. It was insane. The best 10 euro dubstep show I’ve ever been to
- ate Moroccan pancakes for breakfast from the Brussels Midi market… aka the greatest thing EVER. I will explain this another time when I go back and take pictures of it… unbelievable food, and an unbelievable market
- St. V parades led drunk Alex and I to have frites for dinner, and to stumble upon a group of fun Frenchies at a bar. Alex bailed on me after I socialized for too long, so I just ended up bar hopping and table dancing at Le Corbeau with them… they are a blast
These are the french kids I met this weekend… so much fun.
For the second week in a row we hit up this bar Le Corbeau… where dancing on the tables is a weekly thing. They play awesome random American, Belgian, Spanish, and French music which is a refreshing break from house and techno.
If you really know me, you know I go hard on those tables.
